Review: Blood of Christ Winery

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

The holidays are a great time to enjoy wine with friends and family, but it’s also a time of great stress for party hosts and hostesses.  There’s immense social and governmental pressure to serve the proper wine with the proper entree.  Luckily we here at Stampworthy have decided to post a series of reviews critiquing our favorite holiday wines. What’s more, we’re getting help from the good folks at Oz ‘n’ Mike’s Beer Blog.  First up on the review cross:  Blood of Christ Winery.

Who says we’ve forgotten the true meaning of Christmas?  The folks at Blood of Christ Winery have a holy amazing selection of fine wines perfect for any holiday party.  The best, and most versatile, is their self-titled signature wine, fortified by the blood o’ the birthday boy himself.

The taste is immaculately conceived and divinely inspired, heaven in a glass.  It’s got a dark Arab/Middle Eastern flair with subtle cedar overtones.  You have Jewish guests?  Not a problem, this wine is about as Kosher as it gets.  Our only complaints are that it’s sold with crackers that taste like pork and the wine itself is a bit hard to swallow.
